What is the ASES PTA?
The ASES PTA is a non-profit parent/teacher association at Alberta Smith Elementary School that helps to pay for the school's initiatives and needs to improve each student's experience. The PTA is directed by a board of volunteer members who work closely with ASES administrators, teachers, staff, and parents throughout the year. We want to make sure every child has what they need to succeed in school and in life.
What is required of me?
Joining the PTA only requires paying membership dues ($6 for one person; $10 for a family membership) each school year, which gives us the necessary funding to make a difference. Joining doesn't commit you to anything! But there are volunteer opportunities if you are willing and able.
Your membership DOES NOT automatically volunteer your time, that is up to you! BUT, your membership dues help by financially supporting the programs sponsored by the PTA (PTA=YOU). THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
Who can join?
Anyone but current ASES students can join - parents, guardians, grandparents, aunts, uncles, teachers, community members - anyone interested in supporting education in our community! Unfortunately, ASES students are prohibited from joining.
Where does the money go?
Money funded through to PTA helps pay for classroom materials, class field trips, educational software; classroom resources (like Scholastic News and Studies Weekly) that benefit all our students. We've planned fun activities that the kids will never forget, like Fun Runs, Snowflake Breakfast, Watch DOGS events, and dances.
